The 74th Annual Golden Globes Awards show hosted by The Hollywood Foreign Press Association on Sunday night was in La La Land. Damien Chazelle’s breezy musical La La Land swept all seven of the nominated categories: best picture musical/comedy, lead acting honors for Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, and awards for director, screenplay, song and score. It was a new record. Barry Jenkins’ tender drama Moonlight took best picture drama. Casey Affleck and Isabelle Huppert took best actor and actress drama each. The most impassioned Golden Globes speech was from Meryl Streep who accepted the Cecil B. DeMille award for outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment.
